Nobody Asked Me Anyhow
Aug. 19th, 2005 04:04 amList three things that bug you--things that others may find trivial then tag 6 of your friends to do the same.
1. That packaging that every electronics store uses. The stuff that is like a hermitically sealed plastic clam shell. And totally impenetrable without a set of heavy-duty scissors.
2. People who complain about the job you're doing or the place that you work in a loud tone of voice to somebody else. But don't actually address you. Because they just want to be mad.
3. Livejournal "friends" who clearly hate you but both parties don't de-list each other out of some sort of unspoken non-aggression pact.

Date: 2005-08-19 03:28 pm (UTC)One possible reason for this kind of packaging is to reduce shoplifting. It's hard to shoplift something 1x2" (say, a USB memory stick) when it comes in a 5x10" package that requires heavy tools to open.
#2 can be extended to anyone who says something nasty to a third party, clearly intending the person being spoken about to hear it, but not addressing him directly (and this also applies to memos, emails, etc.)
#3 makes sense. I use my LJ friend list solely as a "watch" list; if I have any posts I want only certain people to read, I will list those people by name (but given the incredible frequency with which I post (3 times in a year and a half) this hasn't happened yet). So people who hate each other may keep each other on their pal lists, just to monitor how much shit they are spreading about each other. As the old saying goes, "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer".
