List three things that bug you--things that others may find trivial then tag 6 of your friends to do the same.

1. That packaging that every electronics store uses. The stuff that is like a hermitically sealed plastic clam shell. And totally impenetrable without a set of heavy-duty scissors.

2. People who complain about the job you're doing or the place that you work in a loud tone of voice to somebody else. But don't actually address you. Because they just want to be mad.

3. Livejournal "friends" who clearly hate you but both parties don't de-list each other out of some sort of unspoken non-aggression pact.

Amen to #1, I used to work in a factory that had me make those blister packs from hell. One night they asked to work in that room, I felt like some kind of hypocrite on some level.

Well I didn't ask you (I tried to tag all my canucky friends) mainly because I didn't think you liked memes and I don't think you read mine anyway :)

#1

OMG OMG I hate that stuff! One time when I was driving to Minnesota with my parents, I was trying to get at this tape adapter and I didn't have a pair of scissors. In opening it, I ended up giving myself this huge gash on my arm! I hate that stuff so much!

Amen on #1....I bought an MP3 player a couple of months ago and I STILL haven't gotten the manual CD from the package...it's packed in there in some weird, funky, behind-the-main-package-hermetically-sealed plastic crypt.

Space devil packaging! It can only be opened with lasers!

I HATE #1. I usually use a Swiss army knife or large pair of scissors, and in the process, often do some kind of damage to the product case or its documentation in the process of trying to pry it out of its shell.

One possible reason for this kind of packaging is to reduce shoplifting. It's hard to shoplift something 1x2" (say, a USB memory stick) when it comes in a 5x10" package that requires heavy tools to open.

#2 can be extended to anyone who says something nasty to a third party, clearly intending the person being spoken about to hear it, but not addressing him directly (and this also applies to memos, emails, etc.)

#3 makes sense. I use my LJ friend list solely as a "watch" list; if I have any posts I want only certain people to read, I will list those people by name (but given the incredible frequency with which I post (3 times in a year and a half) this hasn't happened yet). So people who hate each other may keep each other on their pal lists, just to monitor how much shit they are spreading about each other. As the old saying goes, "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer".

Freaking packages ! Hate those too. And people who doesn't have the guts to tell you what they think in your face, I hear people on the metro complaining about other people, well, guess what nothing's gonna change if you don't talk to the right person. (I actually had a problem with a group of people because we argued about that)

Did you get anyone to defriend you with this post? That's always the true measure of a post's success.

I like to think that we're in a state of mutually assured destruction, myself.

The opposite of number three is people who delist you the minute you even remotely challenge something they say in a post, no matter how polite you are about it.

I find that annoying, but it's simultaneously a relief!
