"Where are my comments?"

"I just got comments that were made weeks ago!"

etc.

Livejournal moved from Seattle to San Francisco such that they can be closer to their Six Apart masters or something. That was a pretty big under-taking and it seems they were so good at it that, other than the comment thing, nobody really seemed to notice.

So yes, for the past few weeks LJ comments have been kinda tardy or not showing up in email at all. Which is really rather minor considering that they moved the whole thing to another city in the course of an evening.

The post mortem chronicle is blogged here for all those interested.

This is the only post on this topic I have enjoyed (I think most people aren't accustomed to going to livejournal.com/support or they would know the comments thing was a known issue). Thanks for the blog link; predictably, I really like the big, curly-haired cub involved in the migration...

I had been following the migration story as well. I know from the other side of these things how frustrating it is to track down these bottlenecks. Good to know that at least some people understand what the techies are going through. Then, you're way smart as well as incredibly handsome.

It's always the same endlessly annoying story. People don't care what you're doing if you interupt their service. You could be re-aligning the planet with the sun to prevent it from hurtling into the endless cold of space. And people are all "WHERE ARE MY COMMENT NOTIFICATIONS!?".

Thanks for the flattery, you are too kind.
