In the Stacks
Jan. 4th, 2006 03:33 pmThis morning was my first shift working my new job at the Library in Special Collections. There is a lot to absorb given the hugeness of the collection and various systems of organization from Dewey to a few others I can't remember (Murray?) and one truly arcane system employed by the Canadian Federal Government alone. But I've already learnt lots about archival and got a grasp of how vast the central archives are.
I've also been informed I'm starting a special project on Friday that involves some digital cataloguing. That probably means data entry.. quelle excitement. Now I have to go to my other job at Local Unionized Grocery Franchise. I sure hope I start seeing the mad Queen Elizabeth's soon. Perhaps in reverie when and if I ever sleep again.
