Firefox 2.0 is really nice because it has integrated spell checking. Too bad said integrated spell checking doesn't localize at all during the OS X install process and tells me I'm spelling all my Canadian words wrong. Granted this is the first final release but seriously this is not hard information to get from the OS.

I've found Word improved at 2000 - they stopped putting British "S"s where we expect American "Z"s. Eg: "I realize that its colour is green."

Something tells me the cross-platform nature of Firefox means that it doesn't take any dictionary information from the underlying OS. You'll probably have to localise for EN-CA all by your lonesome. I'm sure you have plenty of time to do that, and that the open source community will be deeply grateful.

Well that's fine but they still make a .dmg of the application why not make one of those Apple packaged installers so they can script the localization into it? That's retardedly easy to do, althought I've never done it, and frankly kinda lazy if they're going to start being really dependent on localizing their product with stuff like spell checking.

So yeah, I guess I'm just not living the F/OSS lifestyle!

spell check is my super fav item in 2.0... I had to add my tab plugin so I can get the one-click new tab icon though.

But I see what you're talking aboot (sp). :-)

You could always file a bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/). Best of all, your bug report will double as unintentional comedy as it sits in Mozilla's virtual cellar for months or even years, fermenting like a forgotten flask of Pruno (http://www.blacktable.com/gillin030901.htm) stashed in a prison toilet tank.

FOund it

Add EN-CA dict there. Be sure to click "restart now" after install. Still, they need a full out Canadian localization version, since the search boxes are all American sites - need to use ebay.ca, yahoo.ca, amazon.ca, and google.ca - and it's tedious to replace the engines with the Canuck ones.
