I have my iPod jail broken now running the 3rd party applications and iPhone applications that are not jank. Especially good is the Sketches application for you mp3 player and cellular phone hacking types.

I literally just did the same with mine tonight. You having any trouble with the customizer app? Mine will look like it's loading (go to the splash screen) and then just close again.

So far I haven't seen any 3rd party apps I couldn't live without, but the sketches app is fun and it's nice being able to add events to the calendar directly now.

Mostly I did it for the iPhone apps like Mail and Google Maps. The word is that the iPhone/Touch platform will open up in January. Because, remember, they brought both devices to market really close and Apple is a tad, uh, detail oriented.

Sketches and the NES emulator are the most interesting. Apollo, the multi-IM client is pretty close but again this stuff is all reversed engineered so there are crashes and weirdness in general.

yah, I understand. I didn't see the iPhone apps. Was specifically looking for googlemaps, where abouts in the installer did you find them?

Well only the iPhone bricks because the latest firmware just uninstall any exploits and 3rd party apps you installed. Usually the iPhone bricks when you are trying to exploit the cellular carrier ie. hacking the SIM to use with other networks. The iPod Touch is pretty hackable.
