New2Me, originally uploaded by w.wabbit.

This is Huw's new car. We have christened it "The Delta Sue" after her Suthron heritage. It will be transporting Huw to Buffalo soon where we will be closer to each other and be able to get dinner and snuggle on non-school nights.

I'm exciting and a little nervous. But I'm sure everything will work out.

Bonus! Win a free Rio Volt if you can guess how Huw and I came to the name "Delta Sue". It's Huw's old Rio Volt and I think it works and stuff. It plays mp3's off of CDs and is also very awesome if you think iPods are dumb.

Just a guess: 'Delta Sue' as perhaps an homage to riverboats?

Although I'm permanently horrified at what the incredible rarity of a front-access line-in jack says about the automotive industry. I mean seriously, that shit should've been standard a decade ago, but I haven't seen any car older than 2006 that had them come standard.

I'm always tempted to get a cheap mp3/CD car stereo, but thieves tend to think after-market = smashy-smashy

Naw, just use an iPod and a Tape-Deck for audio input. No crazy FM transmitter lameness and the best input you'll get.

i've been nuts about the Carbon since it came out..it's really too bad Rio went down. they were fantastic designers. Ipods be damned.

Ipods be damned is right! I was sadden as well when I saw that Rio stopped making players. I have a Rio Sport Forge 256MB that accepts SD cards for expanding the memory capacity and I love the design and the interface. And it works very well on my hikes, strapped to my arm for easy access.
