My new hood is totally hard and actually has one of the highest densities of poverty in Canada. Surprisingly it's not all that bad. The kids on the street avoid their sometimes alcoholic and drug addicted parents by being absolutely darling and playing various games on the street. I have my first DJ gig since about 2002 on Friday at Loose Canon gallery. It's a show about coffee and the artist is some Dutch girl who kinda wants this Cuban feeling. I hope to GOD she doesn't want me to turn it into some CBC World Musique Programme. I have distaste for people who listen to music because they pity the culture. It just seems so two faced.
