Bathing in the City
Oct. 5th, 2008 10:19 pm Tonight I had a nice dinner and then took a relaxing soak in the tub.
Which reminds me. A while ago a local columnist did an interesting piece on baths in the city. From today's gay bathhouses and rub'n'tugs all the way back to municipal public baths inaugurated on the bayfront:
[They were] opened with great merriment on July 9, 1898, by burly Hamilton fire chief Aleck Aitchison, who provided "an exhibition of water displacement in a costume more abbreviated than that of a ballet dancer."Baths are so much fun.
