This is a really cool take on the combating the drudgery of disposing of alkaline batteries. Even if you can take them to work or a store or have curb side "red waste" pick-up I think getting light in public space outta the deal is cooler.
I wonder about the unforeseen uses though. What if people start disposing fresh batteries? What if the light is so popular that it's always lit up? Should it be emptied every day? Is that a worthwhile investment to divert more batteries from landfill?
I just love the idea. I think they should have these in controlled public places like theme parks
