I think that's a compelling argument you've linked to, and I do see one positive outcome:
Hypersensitivity to possible LGBT-bashing issues in online retail.
You can just BET that there will be training about the issue, and that companies will bend over backwards to avoid the appearance of censorship in the LGBT arena.
Yeah it's funny how this information bubbled to the surface today. I sorta had a inkling it was some sort of user content flagging but figured it was just brute force or something. It just didn't add up that Amazon would go from highly automated online mega-retail to politicking machine over night.
I'm real disappointed that there was more effort spent organizing boycotts and protests than there was finding out the truth. Then again I've never understood outrage as a form of entertainment.
I actually expected it to require a botnet or something, not such a stupid hack. I am, however, shocked that the dude actually bought Amazon accounts for this stunt.
But yeah, I'm surprised he blames gays for his troubles. I mean, logically, wouldn't the people reading M4F (and thus reporting his heroin-related shenanigans) be straight men and women? Either way, I'm betting his issues run a lot deeper than "waaah, my drug-fantasy trolling got de-listed!"
