Misc tidbits

Ah, it's time for an update boys and girls. First and foremost I'm starting to feel like myself again which is a more than welcome change. I'm sleeping 7-9 hours a night as opposed to 12+ hours, my outlook on life is more positive and I find I'm able to commicate and not withdrawl in tense social situations again! A perfect example was yesterday when I got my hair cut. The lady who did the deed was of distinctly Hamiltonian background. Still contemplating last month's news, not apt to talk about war (too emotional!) and generally just very, well, quaint! I know that sounds kinda conceited, but it's really the truth. Now you have to understand that Unhappy Brodie would have withdrawn from interaction and just thought bad thoughts but Happy Brodie managed to carry on idle conversation that was engaging enough to pass the time. I think I even really made "Hello! My Name is: Carol" think regarding my views on The War in Iraq.

I've also got my referral to see a specialist who deals with musicians and illness such that I can try and retain some creativity and the quality of life that I demand. Pairing Effexor (my current anti-depressant) with Wellbutrin is known to minimize some of the nastier side affects such as reduced libido and delayed orgasm. To be honest I'm not thrilled about becoming pharmacologically enhanced but the benefits out weigh the negative aspects. Best of all I still feel very positive about minimizing them.

Today at the supermarket i noticed The Wine Rack, that little slice of engineered veneer floor yuppie paradise by the exit of many Canadian supermarkets, is looking for help. I think I could really get into playing the part of a wine snob in such a place. I have the look and I'm real good at blowing smoke out my ass. Yeah, starfruit overtones, totally. I think it'd be a lot of fun, at least for a while. An added bonus is that 9/10 times you're just sitting around not doing anything. I can smuggle my palm in and read some eBooks to pass the time while still looking studious and interested in my lack of work.

What else? Oh yes! I've suddenly become somewhat prolific in the past few days making music again! It's so refreshing to feel interested in doing the things I love. This Saturday is the Godspeed! You Black Emperor show I bought tickets for and opening is Polmo Polpo whom I'd really like to recommend for those looking for a truly different techno/dance sound.
